Group seeks to break record for a 'week of action'

Week of Action will kickoff on Monday, June 20, at 6:00 pm.  I have attached the invitation which details the schedule of events for that evening on the back.

I spoke to Steve specifically about two projects taking place next week that Todays THV may be interested in covering.  The first project is Stuff the Bus, which will take place all week long and will be located at Acxiom on Wednesday, June 22 beginning at 9:00 am.  Stuff the Bus is United Way’s annual school supply drive to benefit children in need in Faulkner and Perry Counties.  This year, we will be stuffing an actual school bus with supplies and we are expecting large community outpouring.  I do anticipate that Wednesday will be the busiest day for it because Acxiom employees are working very hard to promote that project.  The bus will remain on Acxiom property until 5:00 pm that evening and I have included the full schedule for the Stuff the Bus locations during next week.

Ex-Conway resident charged with criminal threatening

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A former Conway resident was arrested in Kansas for terroristic threatening Monday.

After more than 9 hours, I-70 west of Topeka, Kansas, re-opened around 10:30 Monday night.

The reason for the closure? Authorities say a former Conway resident claimed he left explosive materials in a nearby hotel and then fled the scene.

50-year-old Christopher Spence has not lived in Conway since 2008. But, according to Kansas news media, is still listed as an Arkansas resident.

Local and state police in Kansas say they are investigating the reason they say Spence caused such a disturbance outside of Topeka, Kansas.

Police say Christopher Spence called 911 saying he left something dangerous inside a Ramada Inn hotel room in Junction City (west of Topeka, KS). Police spotted his truck on I-70 which led to the interstate shut down.
