Recyclables marketing board to meet at Conway | Environment

The State Marketing Board for Recyclables will meet at 1:15 p.m. March 7, 2012, at the Virco Manufacturing facility, 1701 Sturgis Road, in Conway.

Items on the board’s agenda include hearing reports on recycling of X-ray and micro films, and a “Recycle Bank” program which will offer incentives for recycling efforts. In addition, the board will elect officers for 2012.

Prior to the board’s business meeting, members will be attending a Buyers’ Summit, a periodic event sponsored by the Arkansas Recycling Coalition to provide information on recycling issues. The summit will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Virco plant.

The board advises and assists the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality on finding and maintaining markets for recyclable materials collected in Arkansas.
