According to the Arkansas Rice Depot, 18% of the population lives below the Federal Poverty Average and 25% of those living in poverty are children. Arkansas has more hungry children than other state. Headaches, stomach aches, behavior problems, inability to concentrate can all be symptoms of hunger and reasons why some kids can’t learn. Snack pack and back pack programs across the state help identify students at risk for hunger and discreetly provide food for weekends and evenings.
Panera Bread locations in Arkansas are a part of a locally owned franchise who owns 31 bakery-cafes in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. With its identity rooted in handcrafted, fresh-baked, artisan bread, the company is committed to providing great-tasting, quality food that people can trust. Nearly all of the bakery-cafes have a menu highlighted by antibiotic-free chicken, whole grain bread, and select organic and all natural ingredients, with zero grams of artificial trans fat per serving, which provide flavorful, wholesome offerings. Panera Bread Company routinely donates bread, baked goods and funds to community organizations. For more information, go to panerabread.com.
