CONWAY, Ar (KTHV)--CNN Money (http://cnnmon.ie/NDaNx7) has listed Faulkner County as one of the best places in the nation to live when it comes to job growth.
The survey looks at counties across the state for percentage of job growth, median family income, quality of life and homes for sale, among other variables, when comparing the contenders.
Jamie Gates, Senior Vice President of Conway Chamber of Commerce says, "Nationally a lot of economies have suffered, certainly for the last 5 years. While this economy has felt the national impact to some extent, we were able to thrive and continue to add jobs during the recession."
Those jobs specifically include Hewlett Packard and Southwestern Energy. And even something still in the works, but definitely promising.
"Just two weeks ago we announced that Privacy Star, a company that was founded and is growing here in Conway is going to add 120 jobs!"
Faulkner County ranks 13th in the nation for the county with most job growth and attracting new businesses. With the county seat of Conway also home to 3 major colleges, the future is bright.
Gates attributes their success to the quality of their workforce and gives a nod to the citizens truly enjoying working together!
"One thing we're very proud of is, over this decade when we saw tremendous job growth, we lost, then replaced, and then some, more than 4,000 jobs!"
Success is easy to share, and Gates says anyone can use improvement.
"It's proof and it's a cautionary tale to communities that you can never stop recruiting or working to grow your economy."
