Griffin calls on Exxon to relocate pipeline

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) sent a letter to Rex Tillerson, chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil Corporation, urging Exxon to support the Central Arkansas Water (CAW) utility’s request to relocate a section of the Pegasus pipeline.  Here is an excerpt from the letter:

Arkansas Supreme Court to Visit UCA Campus

CONWAY—The Arkansas Supreme Court will visit the University of Central Arkansas campus on Thursday, October 10, 2013.

President Tom Courtway announced to the UCA Board of Trustees today that all seven justices would visit the campus this fall.

Planning is still underway, but justices will hear oral arguments starting at 9 a.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall. Additional details will be announced once they are finalized. The event is public.

“We believe that will be a good event not only for UCA and our students but the community and maybe some of the high schools,” he said.

Newly elected officials streamed into the courtroom early New Year's Day, eager for their swearing-in ceremony and looking forward to 2013.
"It's a big honor," County Judge Preston Scroggin said. "The politicking is over, and it's time to be leaders.

Newly elected officials streamed into the courtroom early New Year’s Day, eager for their swearing-in ceremony and looking forward to 2013.

“It’s a big honor,” County Judge Preston Scroggin said. “The politicking is over, and it’s time to be leaders.”

About 75 officials — some elected for the first time — and deputies were sworn in at the courthouse at about 9 a.m. Tuesday. Men in suits shook hands and patted backs. Women in high heels smiled as they signed their names to an oath that will be filed at the courthouse this week.
